MEDIA DESIGN | Urban-image-spacing
In addtion to the fragmented reconstruction of the structural surroundings, the analysis of large photo collections of a given city, accessible via the internet, always enables conclusions about the specific usage of the photographed scenery. The visual interest of the city’s visitors is registered in the pictures taken. In the conflict between individual usage and structural immobility, a location can, beyond the typological viewpoint, be described as topological scenery. The observation viewpoint and focus of interest depend on the individual interests of the photographer, as well as the structural and infrastructural given possibilities of movement.
In the project, urban-image-spacing, the photographic characteristics of visitors to a given place are examined graphically and subsequently reconstructed in combination with the photographs taken of the structural scenery.
