MEDIA DESIGN | Conduct light-Transform space
Design and realization of 1:1 spacial installations for different locations within the TU BS Campus area
In the design class "Conduct Light - Transform Space" installations, which deal with the issue of spatial transformations through light and color, were specifically developed and implemented for the campus of the Technical University of Braunschweig. The works were designed site-specific for a variety of locations, and therefore provide different strategies of spatial interventions.
Considerations for changing natural light conditions form important points of reference. A central point of the investigation is the continuous transformation that the works they are in interaction with the environment and are available 24 hours a day to be experienced. Therefore the viewer has the opportunity to rediscover the work at different times of the day and to experience their influence on the space and its surroundings again.
The specific dynamics of the selected locations, will be used as a starting point for the development of structural form, they will inform the design. An extensive knowledge of analog / digital creation of form-finding models was transferred, which was used in comination with digital manufacturing technologies to create spatial 1:1 installations.
The resulting forms can be seen as a congruent physical 1:1 representation of the digital model.
