Protest

1.1 The public demonstration of strong objection to an official policy or course of action.
(oxford dictionary via https://www.lexico.com/definition/protesting)
By reverse modeling two protest events that happened in Germany in 2020, we dissected the connections between time, space, events, actions, agendas and driving forces to understand and examine the chaotic situations.
In Leipzig on 2020-07-11 an unexpected amount of people from esoteric anti-vaccinators, self-proclaimed “corona-critics”, science-deniers, Reichsbürger to right-wing hooligans and neo-nazis overran the police by the thousands and put the city in a state of emergency for a whole day.
In Braunschweig on 2020-09-12 the AfD party held their party congress for the 2nd time and a broad alliance of civil society activist groups demonstrated and tried to block the convent.
By connecting different sources from official news reports, youtube smartphone videos, live streams, twitter timelines, and chat protocols investigative techniques were used to sort, order, filter, and connect the data to understand the sites and actions. By doing so, actions could be traced, conflicts and ambiguous situations could be sorted, analyzed and made visible by reverse-modeling with architectural tools and techniques.
