MEDIA DESIGN | Experimental Printing Workshop | Programme.System.Coincidence
The coincidence as a principle of design is found in various art tendencies of the 20th century. Regardless of how the coincidence is applied, it has an enormous creative potential and shows a paradigm shift in comparison to the 19th century. Defined orders of images dissolve and established rules become obsolete. Playing with the coincidence allows one to challenge the author of the artwork and it allows situations to develop where the disigner has to react. In the semiar we explored strategies which apply the coincidene as a fctor within a defined system of order.
